When outpatient therapy is not enough, the next step is moving up to a residential program, and that transition is straightforward to arrange. A North Hollywood adult can call Villa Healing Center to arrange a higher level of care, and the admissions team guides the transition through insurance verification and a clinical assessment. Residential treatment means living onsite in Woodland Hills with clinical staff available 24 hours a day, including licensed therapists, a psychiatric medication prescriber, registered nurses, and behavioral health technicians. The step up gives daily structured therapy that a weekly appointment cannot, building on the work already started in outpatient care.
The program treats four adult anxiety disorders. Generalized anxiety disorder brings persistent worry across life with tension and disrupted sleep. Panic disorder produces recurrent panic attacks and fear of the next one. Social anxiety disorder centers on intense fear of judgment and avoidance. Trauma-related anxiety and PTSD follow a traumatic event, carrying hyperarousal, intrusive memories, and avoidance.
Outpatient care reaches its limit when anxiety keeps controlling daily life despite consistent weekly sessions. For a North Hollywood adult, that shows up as functioning breaking down, panic or avoidance blocking work and routines, and anxiety appearing with depression, trauma, or self-harm urges that need 24-hour clinical contact. Villa Healing Center uses the LOCUS framework from the American Association of Community Psychiatrists to confirm the right level of care. Adults who are stable at home receive PHP, IOP, or continued care rather than residential, based on the clinical assessment.
A residential week is built from individual therapy, group therapy, family sessions, and integrative wellness programming, with the plan set at intake and reviewed weekly. Care opens with a clinical assessment by a licensed therapist that identifies the anxiety disorder, its severity, co-occurring conditions, and the correct level of care. The daily schedule includes individual and group sessions, scheduled family therapy, and wellness work in mindfulness, yoga, art therapy with credentialed art therapists, and movement therapy. Staff screen for suicidal ideation and self-harm at admission using the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale, keeping monitoring and safety planning in place as clinically indicated.
The clinical work joins four psychotherapies with a medication component. CBT reshapes the thoughts driving anxiety and adds structured exposure across individual and group sessions. Exposure and response prevention treats panic disorder, social anxiety, and phobia features through gradual, supervised exposure. DBT builds distress tolerance and emotional regulation for adults whose anxiety comes with emotional dysregulation or self-harm urges. EMDR, delivered by EMDRIA-certified clinicians, treats trauma-related anxiety and PTSD. A psychiatric prescriber manages medication, most often SSRIs such as sertraline, escitalopram, and fluoxetine, or SNRIs such as venlafaxine and duloxetine, with benzodiazepines used briefly and cautiously.
Anxiety is treated alongside major depression, PTSD, ADHD, stress-related conditions, suicidal ideation, and self-harm when mental health is the primary concern. Treating these together in one residential program produces better outcomes than dividing care among separate providers. Villa Healing Center does not offer primary substance use disorder treatment. For needs outside the program’s scope, the SAMHSA locator at findtreatment.gov lists state-licensed programs nationwide.
Villa Healing Center accepts most major commercial insurance for anxiety treatment, and federal parity law requires plans covering mental health to match their medical and surgical benefits. Most commercial plans cover residential anxiety treatment with prior authorization, and continued-stay reviews follow medical necessity through the LOCUS framework. Out-of-pocket cost depends on plan deductible and coinsurance. For out-of-network plans, admissions works through reimbursement, single-case agreements, and self-pay options. Admission usually completes within a short window after insurance verification and clinical assessment, and same-day admission is possible in some cases. Call (888) 669-0661 to begin.
