Villa Healing Center provides residential anxiety treatment for Los Angeles adults 18 and older, based in the San Fernando Valley community of Woodland Hills. The program treats generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, and trauma-related anxiety with CBT, exposure therapy, EMDR, and medication management when clinically indicated. We accept most major commercial insurance. Call (888) 669-0661.
Los Angeles adults have wide access to outpatient anxiety therapists, but far fewer options for residential anxiety care, which is what Villa Healing Center provides from its Woodland Hills residence in the western San Fernando Valley. Residential treatment means living onsite with 24-hour clinical staffing for anxiety severe enough to disrupt work, sleep, and daily functioning. The onsite team includes licensed therapists, a psychiatric medication prescriber, registered nurses, and behavioral health technicians.
The program treats four adult anxiety disorders. Generalized anxiety disorder brings persistent worry across many areas of life with tension and disrupted sleep. Panic disorder produces recurrent panic attacks and fear of the next one. Social anxiety disorder centers on intense fear of judgment and avoidance. Trauma-related anxiety and PTSD follow a traumatic event, carrying hyperarousal, intrusive memories, and avoidance.
Trauma-related anxiety and PTSD are a core focus of the program, and Villa Healing Center treats them alongside generalized and panic-based anxiety in one residential setting. Many Los Angeles adults searching for trauma and PTSD treatment are dealing with the anxiety those experiences drive, including hypervigilance, intrusive memories, and panic. EMDR, delivered by EMDRIA-certified clinicians, is the program’s primary trauma therapy, combined with CBT and exposure work. Treating trauma-driven anxiety in a residential program keeps clinical support available around the clock during the most difficult phase of recovery.
Residential care becomes appropriate once outpatient therapy no longer manages the anxiety. That point arrives when functioning breaks down, when panic or avoidance interrupts work and daily life, or when anxiety runs with depression, trauma, or self-harm urges that need 24-hour clinical contact. Villa Healing Center applies the LOCUS framework from the American Association of Community Psychiatrists to match each adult to the correct level of care. Los Angeles adults who are stable at home step into PHP, IOP, or continued care instead of residential.
Individual therapy, group therapy, family sessions, and integrative wellness programming make up a residential week. It begins with a clinical assessment by a licensed therapist shortly after admission, establishing the anxiety disorder, its severity, co-occurring conditions, and the correct level of care. The treatment team builds a plan from there and reviews it weekly. Daily programming covers individual and group sessions, scheduled family therapy, and wellness work in mindfulness, yoga, art therapy with credentialed art therapists, and movement therapy. Suicidal ideation and self-harm are screened at admission using the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale, with monitoring and safety planning maintained as clinically indicated.
Anxiety care runs on cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, and medication management. CBT anchors the daily work, reshaping anxious thought patterns and adding structured exposure across individual and group sessions. Exposure and response prevention treats panic disorder, social anxiety, and phobia features through gradual, supervised exposure. DBT is integrated for adults whose anxiety comes with emotional dysregulation or self-harm urges, teaching distress tolerance and emotional regulation. EMDR addresses trauma-related anxiety and PTSD. A psychiatric prescriber manages medication, most often SSRIs such as sertraline, escitalopram, and fluoxetine, or SNRIs such as venlafaxine and duloxetine, with benzodiazepines used briefly and cautiously.
The residential program treats anxiety alongside major depression, PTSD, ADHD, stress-related conditions, suicidal ideation, and self-harm when mental health is the primary concern. Many Los Angeles adults reach the program for depression, PTSD, or dual-condition treatment, and their anxiety is treated in the same setting rather than referred out. One integrated program produces better outcomes than care divided across separate providers. Villa Healing Center does not offer primary substance use disorder treatment. For needs outside its scope, the SAMHSA locator at findtreatment.gov lists state-licensed programs nationwide.
Villa Healing Center accepts most major commercial insurance for anxiety treatment, and federal parity law requires plans covering mental health to match their medical and surgical benefits. Most commercial plans cover residential anxiety treatment with prior authorization, and continued-stay reviews follow medical necessity through the LOCUS framework. Out-of-pocket cost depends on plan deductible and coinsurance. For out-of-network plans, admissions works through reimbursement, single-case agreements, and self-pay options. Admission usually completes within a short window after insurance verification and clinical assessment, and same-day admission is possible in some cases. Call (888) 669-0661 to begin.
