Valley Village adults can access residential anxiety treatment at Villa Healing Center, located across the Valley in Woodland Hills. The program serves adults 18 and older with generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, and trauma-related anxiety through CBT, exposure therapy, EMDR, and medication management when clinically indicated. We accept most major commercial insurance. Call (888) 669-0661.
Trauma-related anxiety is treated at Villa Healing Center with EMDR and individual therapy inside a residential program, a step beyond the outpatient trauma therapists common around Valley Village. Adults whose anxiety traces back to a traumatic event often carry hypervigilance, intrusive memories, and panic, and residential care surrounds that work with 24-hour clinical staffing and daily structure. The onsite team includes licensed therapists, a psychiatric medication prescriber, registered nurses, and behavioral health technicians. For a Valley Village adult, this brings trauma-focused therapy and anxiety treatment together in one Woodland Hills residence rather than across separate weekly appointments.
The program treats four adult anxiety disorders. Generalized anxiety disorder brings persistent worry across life with tension and disrupted sleep. Panic disorder produces recurrent panic attacks and fear of the next one. Social anxiety disorder centers on intense fear of judgment and avoidance. Trauma-related anxiety and PTSD follow a traumatic event, carrying hyperarousal, intrusive memories, and avoidance.
Individual therapy anchors each resident’s treatment, giving one-on-one time with a licensed therapist to work through the specific roots of the anxiety. It sits alongside group therapy, family sessions, and integrative wellness programming across the residential week. Treatment opens with a clinical assessment that identifies the anxiety disorder, its severity, co-occurring conditions, and the right level of care, and the treatment team reviews the plan weekly. The daily schedule holds individual and group sessions, scheduled family therapy, and wellness work in mindfulness, yoga, art therapy with credentialed art therapists, and movement therapy. Suicidal ideation and self-harm are screened at admission using the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale, with monitoring and safety planning maintained as clinically indicated.
Residential care is the right step once anxiety controls daily life despite weekly therapy. For a Valley Village adult, the signs include functioning breaking down, panic or avoidance blocking work and routines, and anxiety appearing with depression, trauma, or self-harm urges that need 24-hour clinical contact. Villa Healing Center uses the LOCUS framework from the American Association of Community Psychiatrists to match each adult to the right level of care. Those stable at home receive PHP, IOP, or continued care rather than residential, based on the clinical assessment.
Four therapies and a medication component make up the clinical work. CBT reshapes the thoughts driving anxiety and adds structured exposure across individual and group sessions. Exposure and response prevention treats panic disorder, social anxiety, and phobia features through gradual, supervised exposure. DBT builds distress tolerance and emotional regulation for adults whose anxiety comes with emotional dysregulation or self-harm urges. EMDR, delivered by EMDRIA-certified clinicians, treats trauma-related anxiety and PTSD. A psychiatric prescriber manages medication, most often SSRIs such as sertraline, escitalopram, and fluoxetine, or SNRIs such as venlafaxine and duloxetine, with benzodiazepines used briefly and cautiously.
Anxiety is treated with major depression, PTSD, ADHD, stress-related conditions, suicidal ideation, and self-harm when mental health is the primary concern. Treating these together in one residential program produces better outcomes than dividing care among separate providers. Villa Healing Center does not offer primary substance use disorder treatment. For needs outside the program’s scope, the SAMHSA locator at findtreatment.gov lists state-licensed programs nationwide.
Villa Healing Center accepts most major commercial insurance for anxiety treatment, and federal parity law requires plans covering mental health to match their medical and surgical benefits. Most commercial plans cover residential anxiety treatment with prior authorization, and continued-stay reviews follow medical necessity through the LOCUS framework. Out-of-pocket cost depends on plan deductible and coinsurance. For out-of-network plans, admissions works through reimbursement, single-case agreements, and self-pay options. Admission usually completes within a short window after insurance verification and clinical assessment, and same-day admission is possible in some cases. Call (888) 669-0661 to begin.
